The story is a bit slow to start and is obviously inspired by Richard Adam's work but not executed as well as "Watership Down" was, though it is very similar so if you enjoyed that book you will enjoy this one. The narration is good, Steven Crossley does a good job with character voices and doesn't speak in monotone. While the writing is good I understand that it's written for young adults and after re-listening to this audiobook I see how people who are listening to it now as adults and aren't biased towards it due to childhood memories may be disappointed with it. I remember in 2009 getting "Fell" as a Christmas gift, and buying "Fire Bringer" soon after. I fondly remember reading this in 2008 in middle school, I promptly devoured all the Clement-Davies books I could find.
